With suspensions, the drug does not dissolve in the liquid & is suspended in the liquid. Suspensions usually need to be shaken each time to ensure the drug is evenly suspended throughout the liquid. Solutions & suspensions are very useful for giving medications to children, adults or animals who are unable or unwilling to swallow tablets & capsules.
